School Christmas Party

Today was our last day of school before Christmas break. That means our class had a Christmas party. Before our party we had our Christmas program in our classroom and sang songs for our parents. Mommy video taped it and I got to watch it when I got home.

Our party was a lot of fun. This was the party Mommy was in charge of. We decorated milk carton gingerbread houses, played a couple of games and made reindeer food. We also had our book gift exchange. It was a lot of fun. I can't wait for Christmas in a few days. I am SO excited.

My first phone call

Today it happened. I got my first phone call from a friend...not just any friend...a boy. My friend Porter called me. He's in my class and rides my bus. He got a new kitty from a shelter and was so excited. His Mommy let him call me and we talked for 45 minutes. We talked about a lot of stuff...kitties, Christmas trees and other stuff. Daddy listened in because I was talking on speaker phone.

I fell, AGAIN

I did it again. This is the second Tuesday in a row that I fell at school. Today at recess I fell and hit my head on the concrete. I have a big red bump that was bleeding a little. I feel ok, but the bump is big and I'm the flower girl in a wedding on Saturday. I hope it's better by then.

In the mean time, my Mom is throwing away the boots I had on. She thinks that might be why I keep falling. They are really slick on the bottom.

Father/Daugher Dance

Tonight was a big night. It was the Father/Daughter dance at my school. Daddy took me. I wore my red Christmas dress. Mommy took some pictures before we left and we also got pictures taken at the dance. I LOVE to dance and was so excited about this. I just couldn't wait!!!

I danced all night and had fun. One thing I didn't like was the hula-hoop. I guess I just need to get one for home and practice. I just really had a hard time with that. I got to see a lot of my friends though and we all had a really good time!

Pink eye...nah, just a sinus infection

Today I wasn't feeling well so I went to the nurse. It was just yesterday that I fell and hurt myself. I just didn't fell well though and my eyes were really watery. The school nurse thought I had pink eye so she called my Mommy and had her come pick me up.

Mommy didn't think I had pink eye. She thought my eyes were just messed up because of the fall I had yesterday but she called the dr because I needed a note to return to school. The dr said I didn't have strep but she thought maybe I was getting a sinus infection. So she gave me some antibiotics. She also told Mommy a sign of things to look for since I fell to make sure I didn't hurt my head worse than we thought.

In the end, we ended up getting me a head CT just to be sure and everything checked out ok. Hopefully I'll start feeling better soon.

OUCH!

Today at school I got hurt. I was skipping through class and I tripped and fell and hit the table. My nose and lip are really swollen and the nurse gave me an ice pack to use on the bus. She called my Mommy to tell her what happened. It's really hard for me to talk tonight because my nose feels stuffy because of the swelling and my lip is swollen. I look just terrible. I hope I feel better tomorrow.

Halloween

Today was Halloween. I LOVE Halloween. I love dressing up so this holiday is perfect for me. This year I wanted to be something scary. I picked a vampire. Mommy was going to try to make my costume but when we went to the Halloween store to find a mask for Brother, we found the perfect outfit for me to wear. I was so scary. Last weekend we went to the annual Halloween party where my Grandma and Grandpa live. I didn't win anything in the costume contest but everyone still loved my costume. I had a lot of fun playing the games. I even won a red velvet cake. I thought it was yummy, but I don't think Mommy cared for it. She tried it but she had a bad look on her face.

Today we had our Halloween party at school. Since my costume was so complicated, Mommy had me wear my Dorothy costume from last year, which was fine. It was easier to walk in and stuff. Our party was fun. We had a costume parade with the rest of the Kindergarten classes and then we played games and had treats in our classroom.

Tonight we went trick-or-treating. We don't live in town anymore so we went to a nearby subdivision. We had a lot of fun and got a lot of GOOD candy.

This was a GREAT Halloween. I wonder what I'll be next year....

My friend Porter

Have I told you about Porter? He's in my class and rides my bus. I sit by him EVERY DAY on the way home. We are really good friends. He can't tie his shoes yet so he always asks me to help him. He'll learn someday, but I don't mind helping him. He really likes me.

Swimming Lessons

Well, swimming lessons were not all I had hoped for this week. I had my hopes up A LOT that Kyle would be my teacher. When I found out he wasn't there I had a break down. I got a bad tummy ache and just cried. I didn't want any other teacher.

There is another class at the same time as mine so we joined that class for a while. Then another teacher came in to help. She took the other class and that teacher took my class. It was me and three other girls. He took our class instead of his own because he knew I was upset. Mommy told them I wanted Kyle, and they were going to have him come to the pool for me but he wasn't working tonight.

This new guy teacher though tried to help us swim too though, just like Kyle. He was pretty nice and the lesson turned out ok after all, but I was still upset. One class left. I wonder if they'll bring in my favorite teacher just for my class??? Maybe. But starting November 6, I get a full session of private lessons just like Brother gets. I get to go to the same pool he does too. I'm really excited about that.

Learning to spell

I am really learning a lot in Kindergarten. Tonight after swimming lessons, I was telling Mommy that "Dog" starts with the letter "D". She then asked me what the last letter was. I sounded it out and said "G". Then she asked me if I knew what the middle letter is. I sounded it out again and said "O". Next she said "Ok...how do you spell dog then?" I thought about it for a second and then said "D-O-G ?! D-O-G!!!! I spelled my first word." I was so excited.

I'm also learning to read a few site words.

Day Off

Today we had a day off from school for Columbus Day. Brother and I slept in and both woke up around 8:30. Mommy had to work a little so we went outside and burnt some more of the sticks while she did her work. She stopped around 10:00 for the day and came outside to help us. Then we had tacos for lunch and went shopping for Halloween Costumes. Halloween is big in our house. I'm really excited about my costume this year so you'll have to stay tuned for pictures of my costume in the coming weeks. It's not done...yet. It will be soon though.

Homecoming - Parade & Football Game

This week Homecoming week. Each day we got to dress some special way for school.
- Monday was hat day. I wore Mommy's Yankee hat.
- Tuesday was sunglasses day. I wore my pink ones, of course.
- Wednesday was Crazy hair day. My mom did my hair in a crazy pony tail with lost of colored ponytail holders.
- Thursday was team jersey day. I borrowed one of Brother's Cowboy Jerseys.
- Today was orange & blue day or country day. I had to dress country because we needed to be dressed like that for the parade.

After school we had a Homecoming parade. All of the Kindergartener's got to bring their own wagon and ride in it. Brother pulled me in the wagon while I threw out candy. It was a lot of fun. Once we were done with the parade we got to sit along the route and watch the rest since we were one of the first ones walking the parade.

We also went the the football game. Brother's class sang "God Bless America" and sang the school song with the High School Band playing back up. The best part of the game though was seeing my friend Sydney. I got to play with her and talk to her for a while.

Private Swim Lesson

Tonight I ended up having a private swimming lesson at the YMCA. There are usually four kids in my class but there was this thing called a "cluster" (that's what Mommy called it), and for a while they closed the pool. Then two hours before lessons they called and said the pool was open again, so Daddy took me. It was his turn.

I was the only student in my class to show up. Probably due to the "cluster" Mommy told me about. This meant I got my very own private lesson. Last week, my teacher had hurt her leg so this week I had a guy. His name was Kyle. He was really teaching my how to swim using strokes. I was swimming on my back without him holding me for a while. My other teacher never did that. I really really like Kyle. I hope I have him next week. I think I will... I hope I do....

Brrrr! It's cold out there!

We had a busy weekend. Friday night I cheered at the football game. Then on Saturday we had a garage sale at my Great Grandma Dody's house. We were able to walk around to a few sales and Mommy got me a little dog in a cute pink leopard print bag. She also bough Brother the first three Harry Potter books. Along with all of that though we got rid of a bunch of stuff at the sale which is good. Clear out the clutter!

After the garage sale we came home and then went out to the Cub Scout campout. We grabbed extra blankets and headed out there. One problem...it was cold outside and supposed to get down to 35 degrees. If it gets down to 32 Brother would earn his Polar Bear Patch. Daddy said the forecast is usually accurate so there wasn't much chance of it getting down to 32. He was wrong! It got down to 32 degrees exactly...NO COLDER. This was the perfect night to earn that patch. Couldn't have been "better" weather to earn the patch. Mommy said she was going to buy me one too since I slept in that cold weather too!

Daddy said I looked like something from "Legally Blonde". I wore a pink sweat suit and had my pink leopard print bag with the little dog. I was SO cute!

Cheering at the Football Game

Oh my gosh! That was so much fun. Tonight we got to perform our routine and cheer at half time. I had so much fun. I wanted to do it more than just the one time, but we couldn't. My teacher is the cheer sponsor and it was fun to see her at the game. My Mommy got the routine on video. I can't wait to watch it.

Cheerleading Camp

Today I got to stay after school for Cheerleading Camp. It's a fundraiser for the high school cheerleaders, but all girls Kindergarten thru 6th grade can sign up and you get to stay after school one night and learn a routine to a song and a few cheers. We all got matching t-shirts and we get to perform at the football game tomorrow night. I am really excited. I practiced my cheers and routine all evening tonight. I can't wait.

Just call me Chyna

Today on of my new friends named Sydney decided that she would call me "Chyna" from A.N.T Farm and she will be "Lexi". The other girls are calling my Chyna too. It's funny, but Mommy sure is confused.

Today I brought home my first homework assignment. Mommy was frustrated because I was struggling with it when I got home. So we put it away and finished it later in the evening. I did fine then. I was just tired when I got home from school. I should be done with homework for the week so tomorrow I get to play on the swing set when I get home.

Second week of Kindergarten

Sorry I haven't posted all week. It's been busy. We are still working on projects on our new house, so that takes up some of our evening time.

I wrapped up my second week of Kindergarten today. Another great week. I got all green lights again. I also made a new friend. Her name is Claire. She sits at my table in class. I'm having a hard time learning everyone's name because there are so many new people, but we played together at recess a couple of times this week. I like her. I also sit by Lemule, Porter and Garrett.

One day this week a water main broke at school so we couldn't drink the water. We had to drink bottled water instead. They got it fixed though.

I ate two hot lunches this week. Chicken patty one day and mini corn dogs the next. Then I took my lunch the other three days. Mommy made me bologna and cheese...you know the orange square kind of cheese. It's yummy so that's the kind I asked her to buy for me.

I also had another big thing this week. I had my first swimming lesson at the YMCA. It was really fun. I can't wait to go back. I have the lessons once a week. I also start dance class again very soon. I'm going to be one busy girl!

My first school lunch

Today I had my first school lunch. It was hot dog day and I've been looking forward to it all week. I was a little nervous, but excited too. Well, when I got there I decided to have ham and cheese instead. It just sounded really yummy! I was right. It was good.

Today was the last day of my first week of Kindergarten. Overall, I had a great week. The bus issues are solved. I've been sitting my my friend Porter. We walk to the bus every day together. And Brother is there if I need him too. I got all green lights this week, even though we thought I had a yellow light one day. I was just confused. Some kids have gotten on Parking Lot though. It's usually for talking when they aren't supposed too.

Overall, a great week and I really like Kindergarten! Looking forward to next week.

A GREAT Day!

Today was a great day! The bus ride was much better. On the way to school I sat next to Brother and on the way home I sat next to my new friend, Porter. He's in my class and we even sit at the same table. He is really nice. A couple of kids on the bus said we should be boyfriend and girlfriend, but I told them no. I'm not ready for that. I'm only 5. Porter is just my friend.

Four kids in my class got on Parking Lot today, but I wasn't one of them. They were talking when they weren't supposed to. We also made a "School Rules" book. We colored the book. I love to color.

I took my lunch again today, but tomorrow is Hot Dog day at school so I'm going to eat my very first school lunch tomorrow! I'll let you know how it goes.

A new day, new songs, new friends

Today I had more problems on the bus, but I just don't want to talk about it. I'm going to sit with my new friend Porter tomorrow and that other girl can find someone else to sit by. Mommy says she's a trouble maker and not a good influence. I'm just not used to being around people that aren't nice or that like to cause trouble. Porter is in my class and sits at my table. He's really nice.

School was great again today though. We played the "Copy Game" in Gym class today. We had to copy everything our teach did. That was a lot of fun.

Our teacher taught us some new songs. The one I kept singing tonight goes like this:

"Zip it, Lock it
Put it in your pocket.
No more talking.
Time for walking."

That's what our teacher sings to us when we are lining up to go to lunch or somewhere like that.

At school we've just been reviewing our colors and shapes. I think next week we start on letters.

Mommy packed my lunch again today. I was going to eat a school lunch, but I didn't like the side items.

Daddy got us off the bus today. Wednesday's are his day for that. Mommy does it the other days, but this gives Daddy a chance to see us right after school and do the "after-school" stuff one day a week with us.

Yellow Light??? Maybe. Maybe not.

First of all, I want to say that I had a BAD day. My day started bad and it just set the tone for everything. This girl on the bus was giving me problems. I know her and thought she was my friend, but she was being mean to me. She's in first grade. This is the first thing I told Mom as I got off the bus. It happened this morning, but I was still upset about it this afternoon. In the afternoons I sit by my friend who is in 5th grade. She's really nice. I still don't know her name though.

Tonight when I got home Mom was asking us about our days. She asked Ryan if anyone in his class has to move their car. I quickly interrupted and proudly announced that I was on yellow today. I guess this isn't a good thing because Mommy and Brother started asking a lot of questions. I told them I was singing in music class. Well, Mommy emailed my teach to see what really happened and it sounds like nothing happened. I was on green. Now that I think about it, that yellow light that I was on was part of a game we were playing in music class.

Hey man, I'm only five. I get confused easily! BUT, I still had a bad day cuz of that girl on the bus. Mommy says tomorrow is a new day and we'll start over. And Brother already has a plan... The plus side is NO YELLOW LIGHT FOR THIS PUNKIN'!!!

Kindergarten!

Today was a BIG BIG BIG day for me. It was my first day of Kindergarten. I got to meet my teacher last week, but today was the big day. I woke up this morning and Mommy made brother and I muffins for breakfast for our first day of school. I got to wear my brand new dress that I picked out just for my first day of Kindergarten.

After we were all dressed and ready for school Mommy took some "First day of school pictures". Then Mommy and Daddy took brother and I to school. Mommy always takes brother to school on the first day and so she said she was taking me on my first day too. Brother and I are in different buildings so we dropped brother off at his school and then we went to my school building. It just across the parking lot. We waiting outside for about 10 minutes before they opened the door. Mommy and Daddy couldn't come in with me so they gave me a hug and kiss and I then slowly walked into the building. My teacher greeted me at the classroom door. She is so nice.

We got to color today and go to the library. Everywhere we went we had to line up and walk in a straight line.

Mommy made my lunch for my first day of school. I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich, chips, jello, raisins and a capri sun flavored water. I did really well at lunch time. I opened my jello myself. I didn't have time to finish eating though so I hope my Mommy doesn't get upset for me not emptying my opened food (jello and capri sun) in the trash. I just put it in my lunch bag. I noticed it got my lunch bag a little wet though. Hmmmm... Mommy will fix it.

After lunch we had recess and I saw FOUR of my friends, Connor, Neve, Kayli, and Charolette.

I got to ride the bus home today. It was my first time ever on a school bus and I loved it. Mommy was waiting at the end of our lane for us. I was so excited I just ran off the bus. I didn't even wait for my brother. Then when we got in the house I told Mommy all about my day. I started off by telling her that I didn't get on Parking Lot and I didn't get sent to the Principal's office. I was very excited about this and Mommy was happy too. There was a five-year-old boy and he got a warning by the librarian that if he didn't keep his hands and feet to himself that his car would get moved.

That about sums up my day. I had A LOT of fun and I can't wait to go back tomorrow!!!! Tomorrow, Mommy is letting brother and I ride the bus to school. That should be fun :)

Painting my new bedroom

Today was a very exciting day for me. I got to help paint my bedroom. I'm painting it two colors...fairytale pink and cool pool (green). We got the pink done tonight and will do the green tomorrow. It was so much fun.

CIty Museum

Today Mommy took us to the City Museum in St. Louis. It was A LOT of fun. It's like one big jungle gym with lots of slides and climbing things. There was an art center too. I did not want to leave. Here are some pictures.

Strep Throat

Guess what?! I have strep throat again! I just can't believe this. I just had strep throat on January 4th. That's also when I had CMV. The dr gave me Zythromax and I hope to feel better tomorrow.

Dance Class

I am SO excited! This spring I decided I don't want to play soccer. I told Mom I want to take ballet class. So, Mom signed me up for dance class. It starts tomorrow. I cannot wait. The class teaches tap, ballet and tumbling. I really just wanted ballet but Mom said it will be good for me to see what the other two are like so I can decide which I like best.

Mom and I went out Friday evening and picked out a new dance leotard with tights and shoes. This is going to be so much fun. I'll post tomorrow after my first class to let you know how it went.

"Mom we are exploring"

Today we spent a lot of time out at our new house. They should start insulating next week. It is really muddy out there but my brother and I decided to explore the property. It was a lot of fun and we got really muddy. I cannot wait until we live out there. Hopefully next month at this time my new room will be painted!

CMV - Cytomegalovirus

A few days ago I broke out with a really bad rash. Mommy took me to the dr. We thought it could be an allergic reaction to the medicine I was on for the strep throat. My dr. thought it looked like a mono rash so they took some of my blood. It turns out I had Cytomegalovirus or (CMV). It's sort of like Mono. Sometimes when a person takes medicine with penicillan in it, it can cause a rash when it reacts with CMV. I guess that's what happened to me. I can have a blood test to see if I'm allergic to the medicine, but until that happens we are going to just figure I'm allergic to it to be on the safe side.

My throat still hurts

Today I woke up and my throat still hurts really bad. My mommy called the dr's office and they gave me a prescription for augmentin. I hope it works! They put grape flavoring in it and it tastes really bad.

Strep Throat

Guess what? I have strep throat. I've never had that before. The dr gave me some amoxicillin. This is my first antibiotic ever. I hope it goes ok.

Happy New Year

Happy New Year!!! Every year we go see a movie on New Years Eve. This year we saw the Yogi Bear Movie in 3D and we went to O'Charley's to eat. Then we came home and played games. It was a nice way to spend the evening.
